COAST GUARD OFFERED FREE LIFEGUARD TRAINING IN SUBIC

The Coast Guard Station Subic held an opening of Basic Lifeguard Training with the Commander, Coast Guard District NCR-Central Luzon COMMO LUIS M TUASON JR PCG as the guest of honor and speaker at Ocean View Beach Resort, Zambales on March 8, 2010 at about 9:00 o’ clock in the morning.

The said training is a project of Coast Guard District NCR-Central Luzon Commander, COMMO LUIS M TUASON JR PCG to its area of responsibility that covers National Capital Region and Central Luzon to help and support Department of Tourism by providing training for lifeguards to enhance safety of local and foreign tourist.

LT ELIEZER O DALNAY PCG, Station Commander, Coast Guard Station Subic made coordination with Coast Guard District NCR-Central Luzon, Philippine Coast Guard Divers, Local Government of Subic, 102nd PCGA Squadron and Beach Resort Owners for the conduct of fourth basic lifeguard training in the province of Zambales.

In a report to the Secretary of Transportation and Communications HON LEANDRO R. MENDOZA and the Commandant of Philippine Coast Guard, ADM WILFREDO D TAMAYO PCG a total of 43 lifeguards came from different beaches of Zambales namely: Ocean View Beach Resort, Subic Beach, Club Morocco, White Rock Beach, Capati Beach, Jaen’s Beach, A.L. Beach and Miami Beach.

The five (5) day training will be closely supervised by LTJG JOSELITO A MALUYO PCG, Course Director of said training.

After the completion of training, the students should be able to learn different lifesaving techniques, proper swimming strokes and necessary skills and knowledge to perform their respective duties as lifeguards and member of BDCC.
