Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, CG Vice Admiral Artemio M Abu has welcomed National Director of the PCG Auxiliary (PCGA), Auxiliary Vice Admiral Manuel Luis P Idquival at the National Headquarters, Port Area, Manila today, 09 March 2022.
During the meeting, the two officials discussed about institutionalizing the PCGA and further strengthening cooperation between the PCG and its civilian volunteer arm.
CG Vice Admiral Abu emphasized the common denominators of the PCG and PCGA — the understanding, value, and dignity given to the uniform they are wearing, as well as the realization that the ranks on their shoulders come with responsibilities that they have to accomplish with excellence and respect to the organization.
For his part, Auxiliary Vice Admiral Idquival assured CG Vice Admiral Abu of their support in improving the structure of the Coast Guard Station in Pag-asa Island, Kalayaan, Palawan.
During the meeting, the PCGA National Director also recognized Auxiliary Commodore Joy C Puno who donated 4,000 tons of relief goods and critical supplies to support the recovery and rehabilitation of the affected families of Typhoon Odette.
Also present during the meeting were Auxiliary Rear Admiral Edgardo P Idquival, Auxiliary Rear Admiral Ronald Baja, Auxiliary Rear Admiral Leo B Campos, Auxiliary Captain Geronimo C Dimol, Auxiliary Captain Edwin J Dalangin, and Auxiliary Captain Fredirick S Gomez.
PCG senior officials who joined the discussion were PCG Deputy Commandant for Operations, CG Vice Admiral Eduardo D Fabricante and other Commanders of the Central Staff.
