The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) joins the entire nation in celebrating the NATIONAL WOMEN’S MONTH!
During the International Women’s Day on 08 March 2022, the PCG, through its Gender and Development (GAD) Office, conducted a KICK-OFF CEREMONY and a THANKSGIVING MASS at the Coast Guard Base Taguig.
After the mass officiated by CG Captain Stephen Simangan, CG Captain Christine Pauline Diciano, the first female Coast Guard pilot, expressed her appreciation to all PCG women for pursuing non-traditional roles to support the organization in accomplishing its mission.
Meanwhile, CG Petty Officer Third Class Nesthy Petecio, 2020 Tokyo Olympics Silver Medalist, shared her admiration to all PCG women for their strength and dedication. She also encouraged them to continuously prove that they can excel and accomplish great things, even in a male-dominated organization such as the PCG.
For her part, CG Commander Leila Tatel, Coast Guard GAD Office Commander, said they have prepared various activities for the month-long celebration, including Arangkada: Libreng Sakay Para kay Juana, Zumba Para Kay Juana, seminar on GAD-related laws, and distribution of information, education, and campaign materials, among others.
