The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) joined the celebration of the WORLD ENVIRONMENTAL DAY today, 05 June 2021.
Approximately 10 tons of waste materials were collected during the coastal clean-up drive in Cavite. The underwater clean-up drive, on the other hand, led to the collection of two sacks of garbage.
Moreover, a total of 1,300 mangrove seedlings were also planted at the mangrove forest situated in the municipality of Ternate.
To date, this is the largest inter-agency environmental measure that transpired in Cavite.
"The goal to is to make the province of Cavite a hub of marine biodiversity by proactively involving the residents of coastal communities as primary coast guardians of our country's rich and wide seas," the PCG District NCR - Central Luzon said.
