The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Civil Service Commission (CSC), and Asian Institute of Maritime Studies (AIMS) conducted a career service examination to a total of 488 PCG personnel and government employees within NCR held at AIMS, Pasay City on Sunday, 18 July 2021.

This is part of the career enhancement program of the Command thru the office of the Deputy Chief of Coast Guard Staff for Human Resource Management, CG-1 to professionalize its officers, non-officers, and non-uniformed personnel.

"As the most valuable asset, the organization puts premium in professionalizing PCG's workforce. Aside from skills enhancement training with local and foreign partner agencies, and allowing our manpower to continue their studies after office hours, the PCG has collaborated with the CSC and AIMS to conduct this exam," Coast Guard (CG) Captain Vivien Jane Cay, Deputy Chief of Coast Guard Staff for Human Resource said.

"This activity aims to ensure the non-politicized appointment and professional advancement of the PCG's workforce. This is the organizations' way to optimize professional and operational readiness and strengthen Coast Guard functions which leads to higher rates of retention and greater job satisfaction. This will enhance confidence of PCG workforce as they perform their jobs effectively. We thank the CSC for accommodating our request to be one of the government agencies to be given the schedule," CG Captain Cay added.

In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, the CSC, AIMS, and PCG staff ensured compliance for the 50% occupancy per testing room to allow adequate space for physical distancing and designation of separate rooms for examinees with special needs and comorbidities.
