Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Task Force Bayanihan Returning Overseas Filipinos (TFBROF) Commander, CG Rear Admiral Rolando Lizor N Punzalan visited and congratulated PCG frontline personnel who interdicted the SMUGGLING OF THREE SACHETS OF METHAMPHETAMINE (SHABU) to an OFW quarantined at the said isolation facility on 19 August 2021.
CG RADM Punzalan personally bestowed the OFFICIAL PCG ORDERS for the AWARD OF COAST GUARD BRONZE CROSS MEDAL AND RIBBON to Task Unit Commander, CG Lieutenant Junior Grade Adrian Rey S Madrid; Task Unit Deputy Commander, CG Probationary Ensign Philip B Osip; CG Petty Officer Third Class Eumir D Perales; and five other members of the team who were deployed at the concerned quarantine hotel when the incident occurred.
The same award was also given to Task Group Bantay Bayanihan Commander, CG Commander Nelson Jay T Timbang.
The TFBROF Commander conveyed the HEARTFELT APPRECIATION of Department of Transportation - Philippines (DOTr) Secretary Art Tugade, OSS-MROF Head, Undersecretary Raul L. Del Rosario, and PCG Commandant, CG Admiral George V Ursabia Jr to the mentioned PCG frontline personnel for their significant accomplishment that DEMONSTRATED THE PCG’S UNWAVERING SUPPORT TO THE NATIONAL GOVERNMENT’S EFFORT TO CURB THE PROLIFERATION OF ILLEGAL DRUGS IN THE COUNTRY.
According to CG Rear Admiral Punzalan, the corresponding medals for the said PCG orders will be given to the concerned PCG officers and personnel in a more appropriate event.
