The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) apprehended TWO COMMERCIAL FISHING VESSELS due to ILLEGAL FISHING USING SUPER LIGHTS at the vicinity waters off Manamoc Island, Cuyo, Palawan on 18 September 2021.
After receiving an intelligence report, the PCG immediately deployed a maritime law enforcement team that caught in the act the involved watercraft.
The team conducted boarding procedures and issued Certificate of Orderly Inspection (COI) and Enforcement Inspection Apprehension Report (EIAR) to FV ANASTACIA WITH 23 FISHERMEN ONBOARD and FV UNITY GLORY WITH 12 FISHERMEN ONBOARD.
FV ANASTACIA is owned and operated by Royal Fishing Corporation based in Malabon City. Meanwhile, FV Unity Glory is owned and operated by Pesca Maharlika Marine Resources Inc. based in Navotas City.
The team escorted the apprehended fishing vessels en route to Port of Cuyo.
On 19 September 2021, a representative of Royal Fishing Corporation and Pesca Maharlika Marine Resources Inc. paid PHP 300,000 to the Municipal Treasurer of Cuyo, Palawan as a penalty for the violation committed by the involved watercraft.
Afterward, the apprehended vessels and fishermen were permitted to depart.
