The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) will establish a REGIONAL TRAINING CENTER in Eastern Samar, following the productive courtesy visit of the PCG Station Eastern Samar led by CG Commander Johansan Fabilane to Governor Ben Evardone on 26 October 2021.

During the meeting, CG Commander Fabilane presented the PCG's proposal for the establishment of a regional training center in the province.

The said project is intended to recruit and train residents of Eastern Samar and nearby provinces in the region, without needing to fly to Luzon to undergo the Coast Guard training.

Governor Evardone expressed his full support for the said proposal and directed Dolores Mayor Niño Carpeso to accommodate the PCG's request for land that will house the said infrastructure project.
