The Philippine Coast Guard District Eastern Visayas (CGDEV) has received a 176-square-meter lot from the local government unit (LGU) of Limasawa Island, Southern Leyte through the signing of the deed of donation yesterday, 20 April 2022.
CGDEV District Commander, CG Commodore Marco Antonio Gines, and Mayor Melchor Petracorta graced the ceremonial signing held at the Legislative Building of Limasawa Island.
According to CG Commodore Gines, the donation will be used to establish the Coast Guard Sub-Station Limasawa at Barangay Cabulihan.
“This milestone is a long time answered desire, not only for the PCG but also for the people of Limasawa Island as the expansion of Coast Guard presence will further intensify the implementation of its mandates,” the CGDEV District Commander furthered.
CG Commodore Gines also expressed his utmost gratitude to the Limasawa Island LGU for their full support to the PCG towards the delivery of better public service.
