The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has opened the SUMMER SPORTS FESTIVAL 2022 in Pasay City yesterday, 21 April 2022.

PCG Commandant, CG Admiral Artemio M Abu graced the event with the theme: "Be the Future, Be the Game Changer."

“Respect your teammates. The real MVPs are those who know how to help their teammates whenever they fail. Sometimes, we need to lose battles to win. The lesson you will learn in playing may be applied in life for whenever there is unity, there is victory,” the Coast Guard Commandant said.

Moreover, CG Admiral Abu emphasized that to be a game changer, one must learn to respect, help, and encourage their teammates in any situation.

The opening ceremony also highlighted PCG personnel's talents in cheer dancing and battle cry performances.

The said event was organized to boost morale and instill discipline among Coast Guardians. It also intended to further strengthen the camaraderie of its workforce.

Most importantly, the summer sports festival 2022 served as an avenue to identify prospective Coast Guard athletes who will represent the organization in the forthcoming AFP-PNP-PCG Olympics 2022.
