The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and Philippine National Police (PNP) apprehended a resident of Mocaboc Island for possessing illegal substances used in making dynamite in Tubigon, Bohol yesterday, 07 July 2022. 

The said operations occurred during the distribution of social pensions to indigent senior citizens of Mocaboc Island, where the PCG and PNP provided security assistance to the LGU of Tubigon.

During the said initiative, the PCG and PNP inspected the residence of Mr. Lemuel Batuasa, one of the PNP's suspects for possessing illegal substances in making dynamite.

During the inspection, the joint law enforcement team found illegal paraphernalia in plain sight in his residence.

The PCG and PNP confiscated the following: 72 pieces of transparent plastic cellophane with 1-kg ammonium nitrate; 1 piece of homemade dynamite; 2 black plastic storage boxes; 1 red container; 1 unit of weighing scale; 1 piece of transparent plastic; 1 bundle of 38 improvised time fuse with blasting cap in both ends; 3 bundles of improvised time fuse with blasting cap in both ends containing 50 pieces each bundle; 1 bundle of 46 pieces improvised time fuse with blasting cap in one end; 1 roll time fuse; 1 pack transparent plastic cellophane; 1 sack of ammonium nitrate; and 6 empty sacks of ammonium nitrate.

The PCG and PNP turned over the confiscated items to the Bohol Provincial Explosive Canine Unit (BPECU) and the Bohol Provincial Forensic Unit (BPFU) for laboratory examination and proper disposition.
