The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) conducted a medical evacuation for one of the crew members of M/V GARGANTA in the vicinity waters off Cabalitian Island, Sual, Pangasinan, on 02 October 2022.
According to the skipper, Captain Allain Dela Cruz, Mr. John Michael Encina Dakay, a Filipino national residing in Naga, Cebu, suffered from acute appendicitis.
Personnel from the PCG, Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ), Bureau of Immigration (BI), and Bureau of Customs (BOC) proceeded to the vessel to evacuate the patient.
The medical evacuation team ferried the patient to the ambulance prepositioned at Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) Sual and brought him to the La Union Medical Diagnostics and Hospital for medical assistance.
