According to PCG Commandant, CG Admiral Artemio M Abu, Coast Guard personnel onboard the capital ships regularly distribute relief supplies to the fishermen. The PCG medical teams also provide free health check-ups to those who are not feeling well in the middle of their operations.

Moreover, the Coast Guard Commandant shared that approximately 30 to 40 Filipino fishing boats were monitored during the PCG's overflight that aimed to intensify Coast Guard presence in BDM and encourage more Filipino fishermen to conduct fishing activities in the area.

During the said overflight, the PCG monitored four China Coast Guard (CCG) vessels – two inside and two outside the BDM. Two Chinese militia vessels were also observed outside the said vicinity waters.

There was no challenge made between the PCG and the CCG during the aerial surveillance.
