The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) rescued 15 passengers and four crew of a distressed motorbanca approximately 14 nautical miles southeast of Mangingisda, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan on 19 December 2022.
The PCG District Palawan received a report that a motorbanca encountered engine trouble enroute to Puerto Princesa City from Cagayancillo.
Hence, BRP Kalanggaman (FPB-2404) was deployed to rescue the passengers and crew, and conduct towing operations.
Upon arrival at Rasa Island in Narra, Palawan, the rescued individuals received medical and transportation assistance.
The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO)-Narra and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO)-Narra also provided them with food packs, drinking water, and ambulance.
