A total of 36 participants from the Philippine National Police (PNP) Special Action Force (SAF) and three members from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) completed the Combat Medic Course (CMC) Class 06-2022, held at SAF Training Branch, Fort Sto. Domingo, Sta. Rosa City, Laguna.

Officials from the PCG, represented by CG Captain Jimmy Naisod and PNP-SAF headed by Police Major General Edgar Alan Okubo, Director of Special Action Force together with Colonel Ernest Mark Rosal (Ret.), Technical Assistant, Office of the Vice Chairman and Executive Officer, National Police Commission as the Guest of Honor and Speaker during the closing ceremony of said course.

Said course convened on 18 October 2022, aimed to produce field/combat medics who can provide medical care in an operational or combat environment.

Further, the training provided frontline trauma and medical care to deployed personnel to deliver care for people suffering from disease and those injured in combat.

Among those who finished strong from the PCG were CG Lieutenant Junior Grade (LTJG) Cyril Pearl Castroverde-Magbanua and CG Petty Officer Second Class (PO2) Jonnie Miranda for the Coast Guard Special Operations Force, and CG Petty Officer Third Class (PO3) Harold Millanar of Maritime Security Law Enforcement Command-Coast Guard K9 Force.

According to CG LTJG Castroverde-Magbanua, the course equipped them with knowledge, life-saving techniques, and strategies for providing the best trauma care possible, not just on the battlefield but on the streets and for our families.

Rest assured that the efforts exerted into this activity will be cascaded and will be put into good use for our mutual benefit. By skill and virtue, we will triumph as one," she expressed.
