PCG recognizes brave men & women deployed in the WPS

Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, CG Admiral Artemio M Abu, has recognized the brave men and women deployed in the West Philippine Sea (WPS) at the Port of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, yesterday, 21 February 2023.

CG Admiral Abu bestowed the COAST GUARD BRONZE MEDAL AND RIBBON to 133 Coast Guardians of BRP Teresa Magbanua (MRRV-9701), BRP Malapascua (MRRV-4403), and various units of the Coast Guard District Palawan (including Angels of the Sea).

Moreover, Commanding Officers of BRP Teresa Magbanua (MRRV-9701) and BRP Malapascua (MRRV-4403), CG Commander Erwin Tolentino and CG Captain Rodel Hernandez, respectively, received the AWARD OF DISTINGUISHED COAST GUARD CROSS MEDAL AND RIBBON.

During the ceremony, CG Admiral Abu emphasized the PCG's critical role in asserting the country's sovereign rights over the WPS.

He also thanked fellow Coast Guardians for their steadfast commitment to serving the country with utmost excellence.
