The Coast Guard District Southwestern Mindanao deployed BRP Cape Engaño (MRRV-4411) to respond to a maritime incident involving M/V AMEERAZARA in the vicinity waters off Malamawi Island, Isabela City, Basilan, on 02 March 2023.

The vessel encountered engine trouble while transiting from Isabela City to Zamboanga City.

The PCG conducted search and rescue (SAR) operation and ensured the safety of all passengers.

The SAR team also towed M/V AMEERAZARA to Zamboanga City Port.
