Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, CG Admiral Artemio M Abu, and his spouse, Mrs. Carlota Abu, joined the TUESDAY ZUMBA FITNESS WORKOUT & FUN RUN to celebrate "NATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY" today, 08 March 2023.
"The PCG is stronger than it has ever been. Decision-making has been sound. Work has been efficient. And that increase in productivity coincided with the growth in our female workers," CG Admiral Abu said.
"We thank our female personnel for choosing to serve the country through the PCG. Thank you for helping us usher in a new and modern PCG for the Filipino people. You can be assured that here in the PCG, success will never be defined by one's gender but by hard work, dedication, and sacrifice," the Coast Guard Commandant furthered.
To date, 20% of the Coast Guard workforce is composed of women performing non-traditional roles in law enforcement, environmental protection, intelligence and security operations, search and rescue, safety, cooperative arrangements, adjudications, community services, and humanitarian efforts.
