The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Crisis Management Committee headed by PCG Deputy Commandant for Operations, CG Vice Admiral Rolando Lizor Punzalan Jr, held a meeting to strategize and fast-track the conduct of Customs, Immigration, Quarantine, Security (CIQS) procedures for the arrival of the Japanese Dynamic Positioning Vessel (DPV) SHIN NICHI MARU carrying a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) in Naujan, Oriental Mindoro on 20 March 2023.

Committee Vice-Chairman, CG Vice Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan, said the RDC REIELD MARINE SERVICES hired the Japanese DPV carrying an ROV to augment the search for the submerged MT PRINCESS EMPRESS in the province's vicinity waters.

Yesterday, 16 March 2023, CG Vice Admiral Punzalan Jr presided over the discussion with representatives from the PCG, Bureau of Customs (BOC), Bureau of Immigration (BI), Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) finalized the plan for the smooth and efficient “within-the-arrival-day” conduct of protocols without compromising vessel safety and security guidelines.
