The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has recognized Coast Guardians for serving as role models of women empowerment and their accomplishments for the Coast Guard Gender and Development (CGGAD)!
The recognition, in celebration of National Women's Month, occurred at the National Headquarters, Port Area, Manila, on 27 March 2023.
PCG Commandant, CG Admiral Artemio M Abu, and Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) Deputy Executive Director for Operations, Ms. Maria Kristine Josefina Balmes, pinned the COAST GUARD GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT BADGE to the following empowered female Coast Guardians:
1) CG Commodore Vivien Jane Cay
2) CG Captain Christine Pauline Diciano
3) CG Commander Angela Tobias
4) CG Commander Leila Tatel
5) CG Commander Cecile Jimenez
Moreover, the Coast Guard Commandant received the GAD FOCAL POINT SYSTEM BADGE, together with the following Coast Guard officers who support the CGGAD in achieving milestones in the uniformed service:
1) CG Vice Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan
2) CG Commodore Rommel Supangan
3) CG Captain Cynthia Esquivias
4) CG Captain Arbie Caspillo
Meanwhile, the Command also bestowed the AWARD OF OUTSTANDING WOMEN OF PCG to the following Coast Guard Juanas who continue to provide exceptional Coast Guard service:

2) CG Captain Maricor Soliva
3) CG Commander Christie Cabuyaban
4) CG Commander Laurince Ivan Felizarte
5) CG Commander Angela Tobias
6) CG Commander Melisa Acosta

"We work and will continue creating an environment and society where women recognize their self-worth and have the confidence and freedom to choose their needs, and above all — have an independent role in the society," CG Admiral Abu expressed.
