The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) conducted a JOINT ENTRAPMENT OPERATION that led to the arrest of MR. NELSON ABORDO, an illegal recruiter of PCG applicants, in front of Baclaran Church in Pasay City yesterday, 22 May 2023.
Mr. Abordo was the accomplice of Ms. Gly-an Jubac and Mr. John Herald Padillo, who are currently at large.
Several victims reported that they were illegally recruiting aspiring PCG applicants in exchange for money.
The joint operatives arrested Mr. Abordo after receiving the Php 15,000 marked money from the intel operatives.
They also confiscated a "1911 Norinco Cal. 45 Pistol" loaded with seven rounds of live ammunition from Mr. Abordo.
He violated Article 315 of the Revised Penal Code (Estafa) and the Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
At around 8PM, the joint operatives launched a follow-up entrapment operation to arrest Ms. Jubac but yielded a negative result.
The PCG and PNP-CIDG are planning another entrapment operation to arrest Ms. Jubac and Mr. Padillo.
The PCG coordinated with the PNP-CIDG after receiving several complaints from aspiring applicants who paid "downpayments" to Mr. Abordo, Ms. Jubac, and Mr. Padillo in April 2023.
The PCG continues to remind aspiring applicants to be on guard and report any illegal recruiter who will approach them to the proper authorities.
They are encouraged to call or text the Coast Guard Human Resource Management Command (CGHRMC) at 0935-782-2386 or the Coast Guard Intelligence Force (CGIF) at 0926-628-4519 for immediate action.
