The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) warmly welcomed French Joint Commander for Asia Pacific, Rear Admiral Geoffroy d'AndignΓ©, at the National Headquarters, Port Area, Manila, today, 30 June 2023.
On behalf of PCG Commandant, CG Admiral Artemio M Abu, PCG Deputy Commandant for Operations, CG Vice Admiral Rolando Lizor Punzalan Jr led the Coast Guard delegation.
The officials discussed how to reinforce cooperation between the PCG and the French Navy and the possible implementing agreement between the armed services.
CG Vice Admiral Punzalan Jr and Rear Admiral Geoffroy d'AndignΓ© also assessed the current challenges faced by the PCG and how the French Navy can support the organization.
The Coast Guard delegation during the courtesy meeting also included PCG Deputy Commandant for Administration, CG Vice Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan; Coast Guard Public Affairs Office Commander, CG Rear Admiral Armando Balilo; Coast Guard Strategic Studies and International Affairs Deputy Director, CG Commodore Vivien Jane Cay; and Deputy Chief of Coast Guard Staff for International Affairs, CG Commodore Algier Ricafrente.
