In response to the escalating flooding situation caused by heavy rains attributed to the shearline and low-pressure area (LPA), the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) conducted a rescue operation at Barangay Macagtas, Catarman, Northern Samar at around 7AM today, 21 November 2023.

As of the latest report, three families have already been successfully rescued from the affected areas and relocated to the Catarman evacuation center.

Swift and decisive action has been taken to provide these families with the necessary assistance and ensure their well-being.

The rescue and evacuation operations are still in progress as emergency response teams continue their efforts to safeguard the residents of Catarman.

The situation is being closely monitored, and additional resources are being deployed to manage the evolving crisis.
