πππππππ πππ ππππ in the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) when it named its first female one-star general among its line officers β CG Commodore Mitzie Silva-Campo, the Coast Guard Internal Audit Commander.
CG Commodore Silva-Campo finished at the top of her Coast Guard Officers Course (CGOC) Class in 2002.
She obtained a Bachelor of Arts major in English degree with some education units at the Cor Jesu College, Inc. in Digos City. She also received her Juris Doctor degree from the same university.
CG Commodore Silva-Campo also holds a master's degree in Maritime Law and Policy from the World Maritime University in MalmΓΆ, Sweden.
She made significant contributions to advancing gender equality and women empowerment in the maritime sector.
On 23 March 2023, she was elected among 81 fellows from 30 nations representing every sub-region in the Indo-Pacific, as well as Europe, Africa, and America, as the Commencement Speaker during the Graduation Ceremony of the Comprehensive Security Cooperation Course of the Daniel K Inoue, Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Awarded as World Empowered Women Icon-Exceptional Woman in Maritime Industry in Singapore 2023, recognized as one of the World Maritime University Voices in a publication showcasing personal stories.
