The Coast Guard Station Western Palawan led a joint law enforcement operation that uncovered illegal logging activity in Sitio Marirong, Barangay Suwangan, Quezon, Palawan.

The PCG, DENR, Bantay Dagat, PNP Maritime Group, and barangay officials discovered approximately 15 cubic meters of illegally felled mangrove trees.

However, there were no suspects at the scene.

As of press time, the DENR Quezon is conducting a thorough investigation to identify and prosecute those responsible for the environmental degradation in the area.
