The Department of Agriculture (DA) has lauded the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) for its significant contributions to fisheries conservation and sustainability.

This occurred during the 61st Fish Conservation Week closing ceremony in Quezon City yesterday, 20 September 2024.

The DA recognized the PCG for its collaborative efforts towards the development and preservation of the countryโ€™s fisheries and aquatic resources.

The Coast Guard Fleet and DA-BFAR patrol vessel, MCS 3004, were awarded the prestigious "Gawad Parangal sa mga Kabalikat ng Pangisdaan" for their unwavering commitment to safeguarding marine ecosystems and supporting sustainable fishing practices.

Coast Guard Fleet Commander, Rear Admiral Edgar Ybaรฑez PCG, and MSC 3004 Commanding Officer, Commander Felix Angelo Angue PCG, received the said award.
