Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) media partners gathered to thank the former PCG Spokesperson, Rear Admiral Armando Balilo PCG, who formally turned over his duties and responsibilities at the National Headquarters, Port Area, Manila, yesterday, 27 September 2024.

PCG Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG, and Rear Admiral Balilo’s spouse, Mrs. Rizzalyn Balilo, graced the event.

Rear Admiral Balilo served as the Coast Guard’s mouthpiece since 2003. He will officially retire after 30 years of public service on Monday, 30 September 2024.

Media partners expressed their gratitude to the former PCG Spokesperson for fully supporting news coverage and story production on issues of national relevance concerning Coast Guard operations and mandates.

Aside from providing invaluable interviews and stories for public awareness, media partners said they will always remember Rear Admiral Balilo for his professionalism, generosity, and willingness to go the extra mile towards information operations and media affairs.

The former PCG Spokesperson also served as the Coast Guard Civil Relations Service (CGCRS) Commander and Coast Guard Public Affairs Service (CGPAS) Acting Commander.
