The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) and the National Youth Commission (NYC), at the PCG โ€“ West Philippine Sea Transparency Office on 19 February 2025.

According to West Philippine Sea Transparency Group (WPS-TG), this partnership marks a major step forward in enhancing public awareness, countering misinformation, and involving the youth in maritime security initiatives. With PCG spearheading transparency efforts, PIA ensuring effective information dissemination, and NYC mobilizing young advocates, the collaboration is set to empower Filipinos with credible information and meaningful engagement in protecting the countryโ€™s waters.

"The challenges in the West Philippine Sea demand not just vigilance, but also transparency and national unity. This partnership strengthens agencies' commitment to ensuring that Filipinos - especially the youth - are informed, engaged, and ready to contribute to our maritime security," WPS-TG said.

"Through this strengthened partnership, the Filipino public can expect increased access to accurate maritime security updates and expanded opportunities for youth involvement in safeguarding the countryโ€™s territorial integrity." it furthered.
