The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has conducted an opening ceremony aligned with the National Womenβs Month Celebration, at the National Headquarters, Port Area, Manila today, 03 March 2025.
PCG Acting Deputy Commandant for Administration, Rear Admiral Hostillo Arturo Cornelio PCG, spearheaded the said ceremony.
βIn the Philippine Coast Guard, we are fortunate to work with such strong women who have been chosen to not just stand up for themselves, but also for others - women who face the same risks and make the same sacrifice as their male counterparts in order to help save lives, protect our seas, and shape a brighter future for the nation,β Rear Admiral Cornelio expressed.
βThe celebration of the National Womenβs Month is a call to recognize and support every womanβs personal and professional journey. Itβs about creating a space where women can define their own paths, pursue their passions, and contribute meaningfully to society,β he added.
βLet us commit to ensuring that every woman whether in a leadership role, or at the grassroots level has access to opportunities for growth, advancement, and success. Now more than ever, it is our responsibility to be advocates of equality, ensuring that women from all walks of life have the support, the respect, and the freedom to thrive,β he ended.
Meanwhile, through the initiative of Coast Guard Gender and Development (CGGAD), the PCG officers, non-officers and non-uniformed personnel were able to share their thoughts in the "Pledge of Commitment" board about Women Empowerment in pursuit to the said celebration.
