Captain Perlita Cinco PCG is a trailblazer in the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), known for her unwavering commitment to service and her groundbreaking achievements.
Her journey began with a passion for leadership during her formative years which fueled her desire to join the Coast Guard Officers Course (CGOC) Class 02 β 2001 βMATATAGβ to serve the nation and break barriers in a traditionally male-dominated field.
Throughout her career, Captain Cinco PCG has faced and overcome numerous challenges, including gender biases and the demanding balance between her professional life as an officer in the service and her personal responsibilities as a wife and a mother.
Her perseverance and dedication led her to become the first female Commanding Officer of a PCG commissioned vessel and receive the prestige award of being one of the pioneers of the Outstanding Women in Law Enforcement and National Security (OWLENS) in the year 2019, and currently, the Commanding Officer of BRP Bojeador (AE-46). It is a historic milestone that opened doors for future generations of women in the PCG.
βLearning is an unending process. Serve with passion to enjoy every moment of your service. Always give your best, but learn how to stand your ground,β she emphasized.
