With the support of President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr., the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has restored six critical light stations in Romblon from 30 June to 04 July 2025.

These are the Light Station (LS) Calatong Hills, LS Corcuera, LS Malbog, LS Gorda, LS Calabogo Point, and LS Romblon Jetty (Red).

The PCG team conducted essential installations, system repairs, and component replacementsβ€”effectively restoring light to the shorelines and reinforcing navigational safety across Southern Tagalog.

β€œWith this successful operation, the operational efficiency of light stations in the region has now increased to 94.06%, a testament to the unit’s continued commitment to ensuring that Southern Tagalog’s aids to navigation remain effective, visible, and reliable in support of safe vessel movement and maritime domain awareness,” the Maritime Safety Services Unit Southern Tagalog (MSSU-STL) said.

The Coast Guard Maritime Safety Services Command (MSSC), Coast Guard District Southern Tagalog (CGDSTL), Field Maintenance and Inspection Center-Southern Tagalog (FMIC-STL), and the Aids to Navigation Service also supported the five-day mission.
