CEBU CITY, Philippines (28 October 2019)- The Philippine Coast Guard successfully rescued the 311 passengers after “MV Mika Mari 3” tilted at Consuelo Port, Francisco Camotes yesterday morning.

Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) San Francisco received a report from MV Mika Mari 3 regarding the incident. Immediately, CGSS San Francisco's Quick Response Team proceeded to the area and conducted necessary assistance to the passengers of the said vessel.

Investigation disclosed that while the said vessel is approaching the port of Consuelo, the vessel’s auxiliary engine suddenly tripped off causing her to lose control and to ran aground 200 meters away from said port.

As of press time, the passengers are all safe and the vessel is already docked at Port of Consuelo.
