CAVITE CITY, Philippines (03 November 2019)- A sea turtle stranded at the shoreline of Dalaroy Beach Resort, Puerto Azul, in Cavite was rescued by the joint personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Naic, Special Operation Unit (SOU), Development Management Office II, Department of Environment and Natural Resources and Provincial Environmental and Natural Resources Officer (DENR PENRO) last October 30.
Initial reports revealed that a concerned citizen named Rechelle Andaleon informed the said sub-station that she found a sea turtle which was suspected to lay eggs at the said shoreline.
Immediately, said joint team proceeded at the area to verify the veracity of the report and found out the female green sea turtle which was approximately 30 to 35 years old, 59 centimeter in length, 57 centimeter in width, 35 kilograms in weight and was categorized by the DENR as critically endangered species.
About 12PM of the same date, the team together with DENR personnel carefully released the said sea turtle to its natural habitat.
