PCG: Elements of Coast Guard Sub-Station Hinigaran, CGSS Hinimamaylan and Bantay Dagat Hiningiran apprehended fishing banca “BBJ Katarungan” at the vicinity waters approximately 8.87 kilometers from shoreline of Barangay Gargato, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental last Sunday, July 29.
While conducting Maritime Patrol (MARPAT), the team sighted the suspected fishing banca owned by Nita B Jungco. Immediately, they boarded fbca BBJ Katarungan and found out that the said fishing banca has leave the port without clearance from PCG and that the Master has failed to accomplish the Masters Declaration for Safe Departure (MDSD). These violations are against the provision of HPCG Memorandum Circular No 05-12 or the Masters Declaration for Safe Departure.
Above-mentioned f/bca was temporarily beached at Boat Landing Area, Barangay 1, Poblacion, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental while the apprehended individuals and confiscated fishing gears and fish products were properly turned over to Fernando M Yudi Sr., Chief Hinigaran Bantay Dagat, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental for proper disposition.
