PCG: Commandant Philippine Coast Guard Admiral Elson E Hermigino led the Oath-Taking Ceremony of the newly selected 20 cadets under the PCG-Philippine Merchant Marine Academy Cadetship and Sponsorship Program yesterday, November 9, 2018 at Function Hall National Headquarters PCG.
The ceremony was followed with the signing of contract in which the PCG undertakes to pay the PMMA the full scholarship fee for each PCG Cadet trained by the PMMA.
Admiral Hermogino emphasized in his speech that he is grateful that they chose to serve our country through the Coast Guard.
"Soon enough, they will be in charge of enforcing our maritime laws against intruders, poachers, and smugglers, or patrolling our waters against security threats. He trusted that they will make the most of their trainings at PMMA to be the best on serving to our country and people", he added.
The 9th Batch of PCG-PMMA Cadetship and Scholarship Program is composed of 17 males and three females.
The program started in 2009 with a purpose to establish a stronger working relationship with the changing times and evolving maritime challenges.
