CGDWV: Coast Guard Personnel of Coast Guard Station (CGS) Iloilo and MRRV 4411 BRP Cape Engaño, rescued five fishermen of a partially submerged fishing boat at Muhuy Pt. Jordan, Guimaras on December 19.

Coast Guard Station Iloilo received a phone call from MRRV 4411, informing that they were conducting rescue operation to the five fishermen.

The rescued persons were identified as: Mr. Jerald Nonescan, 38 y/o, Danilo Ensila, 37 y/o, Rodolfo Pobresa, 34 y/o, Jeffmark Gargantil, 21 y/o, and Arjay Ramos Jr, 19 y/o, all residents of Brgy. Baroc, Tigbauan, Iloilo.

Investigation revealed that, said rescued individuals were conducting fishing venture at vicinity waters off Nueva Valencia, Guimaras onboard F/V Diana Mae last December 18, 2018 at 11: 00 PM. On their way back home of December 19, their fishing vessel was battered by big waves and strong winds causing their boat to capsized. The Boat Captain managed to ask for help to the passing PCG vessel, BRP Cape Engaño, MRRV 4411.

Their ill-fated boat was temporarily turned over to the barangay officials for safe keeping in Sitio Cabaling, Brgy. Espinosa, Jordan, Guimaras to Brgy Kagawad Tammy Dunno of said Brgy. Meanwhile, the rescued fishermen were brought to Coast Guard Station Iloilo and subsequently turned-over to Bgry Captain Leonardo Nulod of the Brgy Baroc, Tigbauan, Iloilo for proper disposition.
