PCG: Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Donsol personnel successfully rescued six passengers and two crew members onboard M/bca "John Ian" which encountered engine trouble at vicinity waters of Ticao Island, Masbate yesterday, April 20.

CGSS Donsol immediately coordinated with personnel of Donsol Tourism to conduct a joint search and rescue (SAR) operation on the distressed motorbanca onboard hired Mbca Lovely Roxanne.

SAR team sighted the said motorbanca at vicinity shoreline of Barangay San Miguel in Ticao with all passengers in good physical condition.

Immediately, all passengers were successfully rescued and transferred to Mbca Lovely Roxanne.

All rescued passengers and crew members were identified as Siriaco Padilla, 54 years old; Dennis Trestisa, 35 years old; Eric Dilagan, 44 years old; Marisol Dilagan, 42 years old; Aremarius Dilagan, 12 years old; John Marcus Dilagan, 8 years old; Irene Seenico, 49 years old; and Jea Seenico, 19 years old, all residents of Pasig, Metro Manila.

Further investigation revealed that she encountered damage of injection pump, causing her engine to fail.

SAR team conducted towing operation to subject motorbanca enroute to Brgy Dancalan, Donsol, Sorsogon and safely arrived thereat.
