A dead fisherman’s body was successfully retrieved from his capsized boat in Subic, Zambales last 03 January at the vicinity waters of Hanjin Pier.

On January 3, 2016 at 7:46am, Commander of Coast Guard Sub-Station Wawandue received a call from Chairman Artagame of Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Center (BFARMC) Subic reporting a capsizing incident involving a small paddled yellow banca with one (1) fisherman onboard at vicinity 600 meters away from Hanjin Pier at 6:30am of the same day.

Immediately, CGS Subic and CGSS Wawandue personnel together with Special Operations Unit (SOU) Subic personnel immediately proceeded to the area onboard AB-021 to verify the veracity of the report and to conduct necessary assistance.

At 8:42am, the team successfully recovered the cadaver of the victim which was identified by Mrs. Vevencia Baldia, DSWD personnel of Sitio Nagtulong, Cawag, Subic, Zambales as a certain Mr. Roland D Tiera, 34 years old, single and a resident of Sitio Nagtulong, Subic, Zambales.

At 9:20am, the cadaver was properly turned-over to PO3 Laron of Subic PNP and was later brought to Subic Funeral Homes for proper disposition.
