PCG: Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Candon personnel recovered the lifeless body of a 17-year old boy who drowned while swimming with his friend in Daridap North River Sanctuary in Ilocos Sur last Saturday, February 20.
The victim was later identified as Alvin Galimba.
According to a certain Leslie Galoso, Alvin and his friend were swimming at the river at around 3:00 pm when they have decided to cross the river. It was then that Alvin sunk out of sight.
A search and rescue operation was immediately launched by the Coast Guard which resulted to the retrieval of the victim's body. His remains were properly turned-over to the Philippine National Police-Candon for proper disposition.
