PCG: Thirteen passengers onboard M/B Razel were rescued by Coast Guard Station Masbate personnel after it encountered engine trouble while transiting the area of La Manok Island in Esperanza, Masbate enroute to Bogo, Cebu last April 19.

Reports from Coast Guard Action Center in Manila disclosed that upon receipt of the report, CGS Masbate immediately proceeded to the area of incident to render necessary assistance and subsequently escorted M/B Razel to the shoreline of La Manok Island.

Capt. Carlo Mendoza, the boat captain, also requested M/B Aizavic for towing assistance.

Upon her arrival thereat, M/B Aizavic provided a spare engine to M/B Razel. 

All 13 passengers onboard M/B Razel were then transferred to M/B Aizavic and were subsequently transported to Bogo, Cebu. Two crewmembers from each boat stayed onboard M/B Razel to replace the deranged engine and will later proceed to Cataingan, Masbate for further inspection and repair to the said vessel.
