Joint SAR team of Coast Guard and Tanauan Rescue Unit successfully retrieved the dead body of a teenager who reportedly drowned at Baras River in Barangay Baras, Tanauan, Leyte last December 18 at 2pm.

Ms. Diana Miralles of MDRRMO Tanauan Leyte reported the incident to Coast Guard Station Tacloban on December 21 at 9:35am and requested for retrieval assistance to the floating cadaver sighted at the said river.

At 11:08am of the same day, the cadaver was retrieved by the SAR team and was later identified as Darell Patan-ao, 17 years old. 

The body was subsequently turned-over to the family of the victim and was brought to a funeral parlor for proper disposition.
