PCG: A Chinese national was rescued from imminent drowning while going on snorkeling at vicinity waters of Apo Island, Negros Oriental last August 28.
According to reports, personnel of Coast Guard Mobile Team was conducting maritime patrol onboard their aluminum boat at said vicinity when they happen to seen the drowning incident. The victim identified as Jei Yan, 25 years old and a female Chinese national was snorkeling at the area with her companion Jin Shou Li, 26 a male Chinese national when the drowning incident transpired.
Immediately, the team proceeded at the incident area and found out that the victim was retrieved by the crew of the motor banca and was given cardio pulmonary resuscitation. The Coast Guard ferried the victim together with the two staff of scuba ventures from Apo Island to Malatapay, Zamboanguita in Negros Oriental. The victim was transferred to the waiting ambulance and was declared safe and recovering.
