DOTC-PCG: The joint team of the Philippine Coast Guard, Provincial Public Safety Company and the Philippine National Police have confiscated 10 pieces of Narra lumber that were discovered onboard a motor vessel at the Port of San Andres without the necessary documents last January 03.
The team composed of the personnel of Coast Guard Station (CGS) San Andres headed by PO2 SM LoseƱo PCG, together with two K9 personnel, SN1 FC Enriquez PCG and SN1 RA Domingo PCG, and representatives from the Provincial Public Safety Company PO1 Antonio Aquino PNP have conducted a mandatory pre-departure inspection (MPDI) onboard MV Calexta II and apprehended an Isuzu truck where the lumbers were found.
The truck, with plate number RDW 221, was driven by a certain Anthony Garcia, 32 years old and resident of Barangay Binogsacan, Guinobatan, Albay.
Further investigation revealed that the lumbers were owned by a certain Teresita T. Reyes of 104 Rizal Street, Maitim Bay, Laguna, and were about to be transported without necessary documents.
Said Narra lumbers, measuring 97.71 board feet, were estimated to have a market value of P7,816.80.
At around 10 AM of the same date, the confiscated truck and lumbers were turned over to DENR personnel for proper disposition.
