PCG: The Philippine Coast Guard District Palawan medical team has successfully transferred the ailing captain of MV Magnavia to SARV-3503 when it was paralyzed by stroke last Saturday, February 22.
Reports revealed that Capt. Ruben Delos Reyes suffered from stroke while the said ship was traversing the waters 16NM south east of Panagtaran Point, Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
Upon receipt of information, the Coast Guard District Palawan (CGDPAL) deployed its medevac team onboard SARV 3503 composed of a doctor, corpsman, three Special Operation Unit (SOU-PAL) and one field station personnel.
Capt. Delos Reyes was immediately transferred to SARV-3503 for initial medical assessment. He was reported conscious but half of his body was paralyzed.
SARV-3503 immediately departed from the rendezvous area together with the patient while M/V Magnavia departed enroute to her next port of destination, Kaohsiung Taiwan.
At 10:45 PM, the SARV-3503 arrived at Puerto Princesa Pier and immediately brought the patient to Adventist Hospital for further medical attention.
