PCG: A homemade .38 caliber pistol was discovered by the Coast Guard K-9 group of Coast Guard Station (CGS) Caticlan inside a bag which was hidden behind the driver's seat of Dimple Star bus last Thursday, July 10.

A routine inspection to the rolling cargoes of M/V Starlite Atlantic led to the discovery of the said gun, locally known as paltik, by Explosive Detection Dog (EED) Jojie. 

The Coast Guard personnel likewise found six serviceable ammunition inside the bag.

No one among the passengers claimed ownership of the said firearm and ammunition. 

The abandoned firearm will be turned over to the Coast Guard Western Visayas for safekeeping.
