PCG: A couple was rescued by the Coast Guard from a wrecked fishing boat at the vicinity waters of Nalaut Island, Busuanga, Palawan last Thursday, December 04.

The incident was reported by their 13-year old son Kian Jabagaton to Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Talampulan who stated that his parents, Allan and Papeng, went fishing off Nalaut Island last December 3 but failed to return home the following day.

Kian reported that his parents were onboard an unmarked motor boat painted white and pink.

The personnel of CGSS Talampulan, together with some relatives of the missing fishermen, immediately conducted a search and rescue operations onboard AB-032.

Allan and Papeng Jabagaton were sighted by the rescue team at approximately two nautical miles off Black Island in Busuanga, Palawan.

Their boat was towed to Barangay Panlaitan, Busuanga and both survivors were in good physical condition.

Initial investigation revealed that while on their way back home, their fishing boat encountered engine trouble one mile off Nalaut Island.
