Speaking to support organizations and stakeholders, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, Admiral George V Ursabia Jr persistently manifests that the PCG is an armed service mandated to deliver public service to ultimately bring about the greater good of the people.

"We serve others by ensuring MARITIME SECURITY, promoting SAFE AND SWIFT MOVEMENT of people and cargoes, and helping them to PRESERVE THE MARINE ENVIRONMENT — all of which are of HUMANITARIAN PURPOSES," Admiral Ursabia said during the inauguration of the Coast Guard Sub-Station Luuk constructed in a 600-square-meter land area donated by the Arbison family in Barangay Tanduh Bato, Luuk, Sulu on 23 January 2021.

"We protect the users of seas and the rich marine resources — both of which are God's creations. As public servants, we are instruments of God Almighty in supporting the growth of our organization, the motherland, and our fellow Filipinos," the Coast Guard Commandant added.

Moreover, Admiral Ursabia emphasized that as long as there are people and organizations supporting the PCG in the performance of its humanitarian efforts, it will continue to reach out to individuals and families in need of public service.

"We should always think about what we may do to be of help to others. The Coast Guard may just be a fraction of the national government, but we are capable of implementing initiatives to uphold public safety amid the pandemic and support the recovery of typhoon-stricken communities. I want the men and women of the Coast Guard to join me in fulfilling this undertaking," Admiral Ursabia exhorted.
