The Philippine Coast Guard Weapons, Communications, Electronics, and Information System Command (CGWCEISC) has celebrated its 20th founding anniversary with PCG Deputy Commandant for Administration, CG Vice Admiral Oscar C Endona Jr in Mandaluyong City yesterday, 31 January 2022.

One of the highlights of the ceremony was the conferment of the following awards to personnel and units in recognition of their invaluable service:

1. Outstanding Officer of the Year: CG Lieutenant Mark Leslie L Franco

2. Regional Center of the Year: CGWCEISC Southwestern Mindanao Regional Center

3. Non-Officer of the Year: CG PO2 Joseph M Loria

4. Non-Uniform Personnel of the year: Ms. Mia S. Quintans

Partner stakeholders and organizations that contributed to the accomplishment of the Command’s functions were also accorded with plaques of recognition:

1. Mrs. Marichu M. Buergo – Resource Speaker of the Gender and Development Training

2. Ms. Regina B. Quiambao – President and General Manager, Insafety Incorporated

3. Mr. Benjunar Barcoma – Sales Engineer, Rohde and Schwarz Incorporated

4. PLTCOL Armin A Guerrero – PNP Crime Laboratory – Taguig

5. Engr. Jose Romaldo M. Lamac – Japan Radio Company LTD

6. Mr. Ariel Basas – Boston Homes Incorporated

During his speech, CG Vice Admiral Endona commended the CGWCEISC headed by its Commander, CG Rear Admiral Charlie Q Rances for its relentless effort in developing its people to better serve fellow Filipinos.

The CGWCEISC took the initiative in recruiting additional personnel who are equipped with technical and professional know-how in information technology, computer repair, and troubleshooting which highlighted the importance of putting the right person on the right job in yielding a more competent work output.

“To the men and women of CGWCEISC, I urge you to remain committed in exhibiting exemplary progress in the realization of our vision to be truly worthy of being called the country’s premier maritime safety and law enforcement agency. Let us all join hands and stand firm with our objective to become world-class guardians of the sea. Keep up the good work and thank you so much for your commitment," CG Vice Admiral Endona expressed.

The said event commemorated the accomplishments of CGWCEISC and further inspired its personnel to continuously improve themselves relevant to the mandates of the Command as it faces another year.
