The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has successfully launched the Task Force Ingat Yamang Dagat at Honda Bay Wharf, Barangay Sta. Lourdes, Puerto Princesa City, yesterday, 29 April 2024.

Marine Environmental Protection Command Commander, CG Vice Admiral Roy Echeverria, presided over the event that included simultaneous coastal clean-up, mangrove planting, “scoop basura,” and waste management information drive.

Aside from the LGU and other concerned government agencies, private sector stakeholders and nearby schools also supported the marine environmental protection initiative.

The volunteers planted 300 mangrove propagules at Purok Asinan and collected over 400 kilos of non-biodegradable waste materials along the shoreline of Purok Honda Bay.

According to the Marine Environmental Protection Force – Palawan, the said task force was created to organize, educate, and advocate environmental conservation among fellow Filipinos.
