The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and PCG Auxiliary (PCGA) Executive Squadron jointly conducted a bloodletting activity and minor surgery mission in Tondo, Manila on 09 April 2022.

A total of 95 blood donors who passed the screening and hemoglobin tests were able to participate in the bloodletting activity headed by Auxiliary Commodore Hilda Ong and assisted by the medical technologists of Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center (CGHMC).

Moreover, 15 patients with minor surgical cases and 20 patients with multiple warts benefitted from the minor surgery mission conducted by Auxiliary Rear Admiral Robert Sy PCGA, a registered surgeon, and assisted by the doctors and nurses of the PCG's Medical Service.

Gift packs were also given to the patients and donors courtesy of the Manila Chinese Action Team (MCAT).

The said humanitarian initiatives was made possible through the help of the CGHMC President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Auxiliary Vice Admiral James Dy of the PCGA Executive Squadron which is under the Office of the PCG Commandant.

Likewise, the event was in coordination with CG Rear Admiral Juan Manuel Ramos Jr, Commander of Coast Guard Civil Relations Service; CG Commodore Hostillo Arturo Cornelio, Commander of Coast Guard District National Capital Region-Central Luzon; and CG Captain Alexis Calderon, Commander of Coast Guard Medical Service.

The CGHMC, Station Commander, Moriones Tondo Police Station headed by Police Lieutenant Colonel Harry Ruiz Lorenzo III, and MCAT led by Mr. Edwin Fan also contributed to the successful conduct of the mission.
